Learn How Vanilla Grows

Arrive at the 22 acre, off-grid Wild Vanilla Farm after driving through stunning lava fields of hardened lava from the 2018 flow.

Our farm is a sanctuary for vanilla orchids, both in the wild and in our shade houses. When you stay with us we are happy to offer you a tour of our vanilla farm so you can see first hand how vanilla is grown. Each season we will have something new to share with you, the early part of the year is when we harvest vanilla beans and the spring is when we hand-pollinate the orchids.

The Wild Vanilla Spa is a space where touch is offered with presence, where the body is met with curiosity rather than expectation. Bodywork is an invitation to be held, to release what no longer needs to be carried, and to allow spirit to gently land through breath, sensation, and care.

During your stay, you are invited to treat your body as sacred ground, your time as precious, and your experience as something to be felt rather than explained. There is no pressure to do, to achieve, or to be understood.

I can’t emphasize enough how much we loved our stay. Having a clean and tasteful cottage to ourselves in the middle of a lush jungle on a vanilla farm was a one of a kind experience. The host was warm and friendly, and made everything feel effortless.

The cottage was calm and relaxing, the bed was very comfortable and waking up to the sounds of birds and the sun coming through the trees and flowers was so enchanting. Every kitchen detail has been considered from morning coffee to everything we needed to cook our meals. The outdoor shower was both really private and natural.

Getting the opportunity to get a first hand look at a working vanilla farm was one of the highlights of our stay. We booked massages for the day after we arrived. A short walk through the jungle took us to the spa where we were immersed in nature and enjoyed the most blissful 90 minutes of bodywork, followed by the soaking tub. Naomi’s hands are pure magic. This was such a natural and restorative stay!

We also booked the massage and spa experience, which was exactly what we wanted. Peaceful, meditative, and professional. I highly recommend considering a massage too 🙂 I hope I can visit her beautiful place again.

I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience at Naomi’s. Her warm greeting upon arrival set a great tone for the stay. The atmosphere was very private and immersive in the surrounding rainforest. Would recommend to anyone wanting an off grid recharge weekend, or an interesting stop on a roadtrip around the island.

Our stay at Wild Vanilla Farm was truly life-changing for our family of four. Surrounded by the alive jungle, we loved the outdoor shower, picking tangerines straight from the trees, and feeling the powerful presence of the nearby volcano. The land itself carries an incredible energy.

Our hosts were exceptional: generous with their knowledgeof and passion for vanilla growing and their deep care for place, for one another, and for the more-than-human world, while also giving us ample space to fully enjoy our stay. We learned so much and fell even more deeply in love with the Earth in all her tropical expressions.

The main cottage was a perfect home base for us, with our children happily settled in the separate sleeping cottage. Spacious, peaceful, and unforgettable.

Luxurious exotic, secretive, and welcoming! We’ve traveled the globe to 41 countries and this is our favorite! Book the spa! you will have five star treatment in the most secluded forest you have ever seen! The massage the bathing I can’t rate one thing over another. I give it 50 stars if I could, we will be back. This is going to be our yearly worth every penny pamper ourselves splurge! This cost us 1/4 the price of the top level spas we’ve been to around the world and it’s the best one by far!

Hands-down the best mini-vacation we’ve taken on the Big Island! We needed to get away from the day-to-day, and I could not have dreamed of a better place to do so than this jungle cottage.

First off, the cottage is absolutely beautiful, and the large screen windows made us feel like part of the jungle (but with perfect comfort and amenities). My wife was a bit concerned beforehand about critters and all that, but it was not an issue.

Second, the place is immaculate in terms of cleanliness, amenities, and linens. We’ve been in Hawaii for a while, and keeping everything dry and clean does take effort. It was clear that Naomi and her husband, Todd, cared deeply about the place and about our experience.

And despite all the professionalism they embody in running this luxury retreat, they also brought a very human, friendly vibe that helped make our visit a pure pleasure!

This place is a true gem, tucked into a lush, vibrant food forest with ripe fruits growing just steps from the door. The cottage is beautiful and impeccably clean, with screened windows that invite the sounds and warmth of the jungle in while still feeling cozy and protected. Mornings spent making fresh coffee to the sounds of birds singing was simply magical. If you have the chance to book a massage with Naomi, do it! The spa experience is beyond luxurious and unlike anything you’d find at a typical resort. The care and intentionality Naomi and Todd have poured into this land and space is incredible. We can’t recommend it highly enough and are already planning our next trip back!
